May you obtain hereunder the update on the situation now on the ground here in the nation. There are more fast evolving positive events.

Regarding the coming prayer day, we have asked the President (and he has agreed) to come and officially make a decree to surrender the nation back to God on behalf of the nation and (by decree) affirm the church's role in nation building. We have designed the declaration that he will make. Key leaders from the opposition, parliament and business are also coming. Like in the days of the restoration of the second temple and Jerusalem's walls, we felt that we need the legal authority of the civil rulers at the highest level so as to pave the way for total reformation and transformation of the generally irrelevant church and the shaken down nation together. I remember that great doors opened for kingdom builders in Persia, Babylon and Judah when Cyrus, Darius, Nebuchadnezzer and Ahasuerus made their favorable decrees - though they were originally or at that time not believers in Israel's God.

On 25 May (when I came to PE), the President asked church leaders who met him to give him biblical blueprints for restoring seven sectors of the nation that have collapsed and are troubling him. He also told them to give him a strategy for re-introducing biblical nation building education in all primary and high schools. He has also asked recommendations on re-writing the country's constitution, resolving the political crisis, reviving agriculture, mining, etc. He has ordered the Justice Minister not to interfere with the work of churches and their development programs, saying churches are not NGOs. We have been given free airtime on TV, radio and newspapers to convene national restoration prayers. Speaking to church leaders, he has regretted conducting the land reform and national clean up exercise without church consultations and participation first. You can't believe its the same man! I don't understand what God is doing here now. There are more things I cant share by email. He has (on one public occasion) quoted a portion of the 8 page document I wrote on "THE STATE, CHURCH & NATION: A Biblical Pattern". Last week we addressed a well covered press conference on the initiatives.

As you may already know, Zimbabwe's latest official inflation figure (for early June) has risen to 1 195%, while unofficial figures put it at 1 600% as far back as late April when we were down there. Fuel has risen by 100% in 30 days. A 60 liter petrol tank now costs $24 million (or $400 000 per liter), slightly more than a trained school teacher's newly raised monthly salary. A family of 5 now needs a minimum of $41 million per month to survive slightly above poverty.

While the challenges are now crippling with everything and everyone totally shaken down, the doors continue opening. The coming day of prayer day is only a beginning. There will also be a series of nation-building training events for/by churches in major centers of the nation, and kingdom reformation congresses for church ministers and kingdom domain leaders nationwide.

The August 21-24 National Restoration Conference to be held in the city of Masvingo that I will be chairing will be our next national task soon after the prayer day.  I will soon define (with the Task force) what your direct roles at the conference can be as we are still building the newly found confidence of the authorities towards the church.

The empowerment and transformation programs by our ministry are continuing. We are also further training some of the young people who recently graduated from University to add onto the ranks of our volunteers and ministers serving in communities.

Satan foreseeing the advancing kingdom in this process, we have started to face mounting opposition and smear campaigns from some (media and church camps) traditionally linked to gays, new age and liberal multi-faith theologies. We have been on front pages of national newspapers last week, with big impact, plus controversies. The threat we have posed is that we are threatening to have the nation's deliverance come from the NAME AND POWER OF JESUS CHRIST, and without humanistic philosophies as has become the world's norm today. This now means doom for the false gods currently parading for the control of the nation's future. Ahead of the coming prayer day, the spirit of prayer is already upon the nation, with many people praying already.
