Encouragement? / South Africa Update --
I
remember someone asking me once, "How do you know when someone needs
encouragement?" My answer, "uh, I think the tell-tell sign is if
they're breathing!" Friends, everyone needs encouragement! The question
is really what's the best way to give it? Here are a few suggestions...
/ Friends, it's been so long since I've given you an update, let me use
this opportunity to fill you in a little... |

It's
2009, So What Are You Worried About? --
wanted to just share a few thoughts with all
of you at this Christmas season. Friends, I
believe there is a great yearning in every
person to know God. We yearn to know that God
has broken through into our world. It is not
enough to know that God is "up there" or "out
there" somewhere. We want to know that God has
come to where we are, that He knows where we
live, that He knows our name and that He cares
about us. We want to know that we are not
alone. |

WITCH DOCTORS, AIDS and JESUS -
The following article was written by my friend Dave Boman who has been a
part of our team here for the last year. It so touched me that I wanted
to pass it along to you, in hope that you will take the time to read it
and remember what we see and experience here every single day. We are
constantly in need your prayers and support. May God touch each one of
you in a special way today.
Blessings, Steve |

MARCH FOR ALL
NATIONS -
On Saturday, the 14th of June, Ps. Dallas and
Jody, and Patty and I, led a March For All Nations, down the
main street of Humansdorp and back up the other side, and on to
the steps of the Cultural Center where Prophetic declarations
were made over our city and all of South Africa...

IT'S A STATE OF EMERGENCY
-
Those
were the headlines that greeted us when we opened our newspaper
and read The Sunday Times this week in South Africa. Under the
headlines it read "more than 30,000 foreigners displaced and
thousands flee South Africa." Pictures
of a man in flames, kneeling in agony on a street in Ramaphosa
informal settlement, confronted the world on television and on the front
pages of many newspapers this week... |

December 2007 -- An African Story
-
I can still remember the
first time I met Marrillien (pronounced Mar-il-leen).
I was transporting the ladies that come to our weekly Hope and Healing
meeting. Most all of these lovely women are HIV positive, many who come
are quite sick and in the later stages of AIDS. They seldom get
any care or attention in the locations where they live, and some are
even cut off socially from the rest of the community because of their
condition... |

Things Every Leader Must Forget
One of my favorite Old
Testament characters is Moses. The reason I like him so
much is because he was completely human, frail and fallible,
yet he was used by God in a great way. Leading God's chosen
people did not come easily to him, yet by God's grace, he
was able to do it...

Living
With Criticism
I write this article, not in an effort to answer
any of my critics, but only as an encouragement to our scores of
friends and ministry leaders that are in the heat of the
battle!
